Hiking the Chiricahua National Monument
For our final hike of the year with the Voyager hiking club, Dave Damge and I traveled 110 miles southeast of Tucson to the Chiricahua National Monument. As you can see in the pictures, the canyon has thousands of interesting rock formations. We started our hike at 7000 feet of elevation. By the end of the hike, we had climbed 1600 feet and descended 2600 feet walking a total of 10 miles. The scenery was fantastic, especially from Inspiration Point where we had lunch with a panoramic view of the main canyon. Can you pick out Cochise's face looking toward the heavens?
Best hike ever!
